MOSAIK - An Industry & Academic Research Cooperative for the Factory of the Future

Future information systems will be more open, distributed, complex and
networked than current operational IT. MOSAIK is developing a system
architecture that does without central elements. MOSAIK is a project
that aims to take intelligence of the actors and shift it into the
environment, where the actors work through the affordances stored in the
environment via simple control logic. The platform should not be
operated by a single company, but rather consist of a set of technology
standards and conventions.
